HOUSING AND ZONING COMMITTEE

The goal of the committee is to stay abreast of housing and zoning issues by attending community and City Hall meetings; review notices and waivers and attend relevant public hearings; and engage in meaningful dialogue with the community about matters related to housing and zoning.

TRANSPORTATION AND MOBILITY COMMITTEE

The goal of the committee is to promote safe, convenient, multimodal mobility and infrastructure in Coconut Grove by:

  • Developing ongoing relationships with city and county public works agencies and police.
  • Raising local awareness of current and future pedestrian, bike, transit, and vehicular infrastructure initiatives.
  • Acting as change agent for transportation and mobility solutions unique to Village of Coconut Grove related to pedestrian, bike, transit and motor vehicle traffic issues.

VISIBILITY COMMITTEE

Goals:

  • Communicate regularly to the community about the Village Council’s work and activities in order to make the Village Council increasingly visible and known as a valued community resource and leader.
  • Reach out directly to community leaders and organizations to establish personal communication channels between the community and the Village Council and enhance our ability to respond to community needs. This includes regular attendance at the meetings of prominent community organizations.
  • Create consistent messages about the Village Council’s work and activities so, as much as possible, we are speaking with one voice.
